Impellizeri
Talks November
Next level, next season, next month. “I chose Bucknell because they have a great academic program and the basketball is great. I also like the location and the size, it's smaller (than the other schools that were interested). The coaching staff, everything!"
A summer on the
circuit with Long Island Lightning Lawniczak and continued focus
on strength and conditioning have both helped and will continue
to help the Seaford native thrive on the college level.
It also helps that
the arduous process of college recruiting will be behind her by
late November, because the senior has yet to face the mission of
helping St. Anthony’s HS make it out of the shark tank this is
Long Island’s Catholic League. With team practice starting on
November 11th, Impellizeri’s shot blocking, inside presence and
leadership will be a key factor in the Lady Friars’ success this
season. St. A's Head Coach Ken Parham has a high bar set for his forward, and expects her senior year to be her Tour de Force. "Micki is a valuable player on our team, many things that she does can go unnoticed by a casual fan", Coach Parham said. "But people who understand the game and look deeper quickly realize all of her valuable qualities. She led our team in blocks, steals, assists and rebounds. She is our best help defender, and such a leader on the court. (Micki) just has such a great understanding for the game and is a great teammate."
